Here are answers to a few common questions about these beautiful instruments.
What Are Crystal Bowls Made Of?
Crystal singing bowls are traditionally white frosted bowls made from 99.992% pure crushed quartz and heated to about 4000 degrees in a centrifugal mold. They come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 6 to 24 inches in diameter.
The crystal bowls played on All Is Forgiven are made of pure quartz crystal that has been infused with precious minerals, metals and elements. These bowls are smaller and lighter than the traditional classic frosted crystal singing bowls and have a more penetrating, resonant ring that is rich in musical overtones. Energetically, these alchemical bowls help entrain us to higher, more refined, vibratory frequencies.
How Are Crystal Bowls Played?
Crystal bowls are played by softly striking the side of the bowl with a suede covered mallet and then running the side of the mallet along the outside lip of the bowl using a steady, even-handed pressure. With continued pressure and movement around the rim, the tone initiated by the strike builds in clarity and intensity. All crystal singing bowls have a clear, pure-tone resonance, with the larger bowls giving off a deeper, more reverberant ring. The tones of alchemical crystal singing bowls have richer, more striking overtones and bell-like clarity.
What Does A Crystal Bowl Sound Like?
